An Ayurvedic Management of Depression in Hypothyroidism - A Case Report

Background: Hypothyroidism is one of the most common endocrinal disorders which are mainly diagnosed basing on laboratory investigations. In hypothyroidism, patients present with non-specific symptoms. Depression non specific symptoms hypothyroidism. Grading and management depression along hypothyroidism essential to prevent risk harm provide potential benefit patient. Method: A 35 year old woman presented a depressive disorder for past year. On thyroid screening she was found have subclinical graded according Montgomery Asberg Rating Scale (MADRS). Patient managed Ayurvedic drugs Kanchanara Gutika Manasamitra vatakam OPD basis. Result: She had very good clinical improvement following therapy. Thyroid assured maintenance hormone levels TSH in normal range. MADR showed marked improvement. Conclusion: We conclude that it better special focus when as depression. results MADRS well levels.
